Chi Psi Fraternity is Hiring!

Chi Psi Fraternity is currently hiring for the immediate vacancy of Expansion Specialist. The Fraternity is also beginning to accept applicants interested in the Alpha Visitor position, which will start in the summer of 2020. See below for the full job descriptions. Qualified candidates should possess a high level of autonomous motivation and excellent time management skills. They should be able to communicate with other Central Office staff proficiently, as well as enjoy cultivating new relationships with undergraduates and alumni. Problem-solving, a strong work ethic, and comfort working in large groups are essential. Competency with the Microsoft Office suite is required. Lastly, all applicants should be members of Chi Psi Fraternity and in good standing.

Chi Psi’s Expansion Specialists oversee the strategic growth and development of the Fraternity by carrying out intense recruitment and expansion projects on various campuses. While the role does involve some travel as needed, the Expansion Specialist is typically based on campuses where projects occur either at existing Alphas, re-colonizing Alphas, or new campuses.


Essential duties:

  •  Utilize ChapterBuilder proficiently
  •  Become well-versed in recruitment and sales tactics such as cold-calling, in-person meetings, presentations, etc.
  •  Plan unique recruitment events with potential new members
  •  Develop leadership, public speaking, and communication skills with everyone from undergraduates to Alumni Corporation Presidents
  •  Meet with campus professionals and undergraduate leadership to better understand the context and environment of universities
  •  Oversee the ongoing new member education process of newly recruited members
  •  Attend Rowe Regional Conferences, the Mid-Year Leadership Retreat, and Annual Convention
  •  Other duties as assigned to support the Central Office




Alpha Visitors are field consultants for the Chi Psi Central Office. They travel the country working with Chi Psi’s Alphas, their undergraduates, alumni advisors, and campus and community stakeholders. Alpha Visitors spend most of their time during the school year in the field but may reside wherever they call home.


Essential duties:

  •  Work with undergraduate and alumni leaders to solve problems, develop goals, and implement strategic plans that drive Alphas to success
  •  Consult on the management of Alpha finances, operations, and risk exposure
  •  Develop comprehensive and thorough Visit Reports for distribution to key stakeholders
  •  Assess the needs of Alphas and their constituents by reviewing past Visit Reports, Annual Reports, and more
  •  Become intimately familiar with Chi Psi educational and risk management programming
  •  Learn the Fraternity’s recruitment platform ChapterBuilder and all proper initiation processes
  •  Assist in the Fraternity’s extension projects as needed
  •  Attend Rowe Regional Conferences, the Mid-Year Leadership Retreat, and Annual Convention
  •  Other duties as assigned to support the Central Office
