Dennis E. Whitfield, AΔ '71, Educational Trust Trustee
Dennis has more than 35 years of experience working within the highest levels of the Washington, D.C. business, political, and government circles. Over the course of his career, Dennis has worked closely with members of Congress, senior executive branch officials, and private sector companies on a wide range of legislative, regulatory, and political issues. His extensive experience in international trade, public policy issues, local, state, and national politics, and grassroots communications enables him to be a highly effective advocate for public and private entities. Dennis served in both of President Ronald Reagan’s Administrations, initially as Chief of Staff for the U.S. Trade Representative, and then as Deputy Secretary of Labor.
Dennis has served Chi Psi in a number of capacities for nearly 50 years. As an undergraduate at the University of Georgia, where he graduated from in 1972 with a degree in Journalism, he was #1 and #2, and was an undergraduate representative to the Chi Psi Executive Council. As an alumnus, Dennis served the Fraternity as a member and then Chairman of the Executive Council. Later, he was the President of the Capital Area Alumni Association of Chi Psi. Dennis lives with his wife, Linda, in Alexandria, VA.
