Daniel Ahlberg, MD, Nu `67
Daniel Ahlberg, MD, N `67, is a retired neurosurgeon living in Bonita Springs, FL. Brother Ahlberg served as Fraternity as #7 from 2004-2014. He spent much of his time as #7 focusing on engaging undergraduates and alumni across the country.
As an undergraduate, Brother Ahlberg served as #4 and has also served as Treasurer and President of the Northwestern Chi Psi Educational Foundation, Inc. In 1967, he became a national volunteer instructor for Chi Psi’s Uniform Accounting System, and in the 1970s, he served as President of Alpha Nu’s alumni corporation, helping retire the Lodge mortgage and establish the Alpha’s Educational Trust. In 1982, Ahlberg was honored with the Distinguished Service Award. Brother Ahlberg joined The Chi Psi Educational Trust board in the 1990s and did a great deal of work with the Chi Psi scholarship program as well as alumni active interaction.
Brother Ahlberg is the father of two active Chi Psis, Ryan and Brady, and their entire family has been extremely involved in the Fraternity for decades. In 2007, Dan’s wife Linda was posthumously awarded the Edwin W. Lee Award for her many years of dedicated service to the Fraternity. The Ahlberg family also greatly contributed to the Fraternity’s acquisition of Jeffrey Hall in Nashville, TN. The Ahlberg Family Office of the Executive Director is named in their honor.
An involved father, Brother Ahlberg has coached ice hockey and served as Scoutmaster for a Local Troop. An Eagle Scout, Ahlberg has been awarded the BSA national Silver Beaver award for his "distinguished service to youth.”
