|Alpha Beta Fall 2011 Alpha Report|
Alpha Beta is Booming
Alpha Beta has continued its successful recruitment mission with 29 new men receiving formal bids. This can be credited to the commitment of our ever expanding brotherhood to finding men that will represent the ideal Chi Psi gentleman. Brother Will Smith '13, our recently elected Vice President and Summer Recruitment Chair, worked throughout the summer contacting potential rushes and organizing Rush events for the fall. His hard work resulted in one of the most promising pledge classes in recent years.
This surge in recruitment over the last three years, along with increased brotherhood unity, has led to an overall membership of 114 active brothers. Alpha Beta has become not only the largest Alpha in the nation; it has become one of the largest and most influential on campus.
The potential that 114 Chi Psi men have on campus and throughout the community is represented by our increased community service hours and our funds raised for charity. In the Spring 2011 semester alone, the brothers of Alpha Beta preformed 725 hours of community service, raised $1,400 dollars for charity, and had a collective GPA of 3.08. By these standards, Chi Psi is ranked one of the top fraternities on campus.
The members of Alpha Beta realize that although we have made advancements, no goal is too out of reach. As a collective group we have decided that we want to be the most prominent Alpha in the nation, and the most successful fraternity on campus.
To achieve this goal, we realize that we must make Alumni part of our mission. Alumni Events and relations have lacked strength in the past. To address we have created an Alumni committee, headed by our Alumni Relations Chair, Brother Philip Carey '14, to keep alumni informed and involved with our Alpha and its mission.
