The Reverend Cory Randall, E '57, was ordained to the priesthood on June 27, 1961, fifty years ago. Cory was ordained a priest by Bishop Roger Blanchard of Southern Ohio at Grace Church, College Hill.
Over the course of his priestly ministry, Cory has served parishes in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and California.
Brother Randall currently serves as Theologian-in-Residence at Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, MI. On Sunday, July 3, a reception was held in Cory's honor, celebrating this monumental anniversary of his ordination.
Brother Cory. Do you remember the night, as our "Pledge Master", that we kidnapped you, drove you to Grosse Isle and dropped you off a short ways from the gate to the Grosse Isle Naval Station? You scampered to the gatehouse and the authorities closed the one bridge back to the Michigan mainland trying to detain us. Thankfully, Brother Paul Babas had grown up in Grosse Isle and knew the 'bridge protacal, and directed us to 'escape' via the 'other' bridge (which we did) which could not be as easily shut down. The night ended up close to a "draw" as you nearly beat us back to The Lodge with the help of the U.S. Navy. Our original plan was to put you out on that still prominent island in "Edison Lake", off I-94 near Ypsilanti. You were a great Pledgemaster, Brother and have long been a loyal disciple of Christ. We're glad you survived our mischief.
Y.I.T.B. Dick Degener, E '59
