Clifford K. Holekamp, OΔ’96, Recognized as Washington & Lee's Distinguished Young Alumnus

Cliff Holekamp, OΔ’96 has recently been recognized by Washington & Lee University as it's Distinguished Young Alumnus of 2011.

While at Washington & Lee, Cliff Holekamp, OΔ’96, majored in journalism, wrote for the Trident, served on the Contact Committee, and enjoyed social life in Chi Psi.

He began his career as a sales executive for IBM, where he was awarded the General Manager’s Marketing Excellence Award in 1997 and 1998. He returned home to St. Louis to pursue an M.B.A. at Washington University’s Olin Business School. He received the Kupke Entrepreneurship Award, a harbinger of Holekamp’s future success.

In 2001, the young entrepreneur founded Foot Healers Podiatry Centers, an innovative combination of a podiatrist’s office with a foot health products store in a retail setting. In 2003, Foot Healers was named by Inc. Magazine as one of the top "Five Ideas to Watch.” That same year, Cliff was named a "30 Under 30” honoree by the St. Louis Business Journal. He opened four Foot Healers locations within the span of six years, and —sold controlling interest of the company to an investor group in 2008.

Cliff is president of Holekamp Healthcare, working as an independent consultant to start-up and small businesses, He shares his knowledge of entrepreneurship as a senior lecturer at the Olin Business School. He also is a guest lecturer to business conferences and academic assemblies, and has served as a judge in several business plan competitions.

Holekamp is involved with the education of younger students at City Academy in St. Louis. He is chair of the education committee, a member of the executive committee and vice chair of the board for this elementary school, dedicated to providing a college preparatory quality education to the children of north St. Louis.

Earlier this year, Holekamp once again attracted the attention of the St. Louis Business Journal, which named him a "40 Under 40” honoree. The honorees were chosen by a panel of Business Journal editors and former winners based on their career achievements and community work.
Cliff is the current president of the St. Louis chapter.
