Chi Psi Entrepreneurs Jimmy Wilson, TΔ ’73, and James Haltom, Σ ’03, Cook Up Winning Strategy "It’s been kind of a
whirlwind bromance so to speak. The first time I met Jimmy was in passing at
the Chi Psi Central Office in Nashville,” James explains. "We were discussing his
background as a lawyer-turned-businessman and, at that time, I was thinking
about getting involved in my first business outside the practice of law. I mentioned to Jimmy that I was thinking
about getting involved in a taco restaurant, and he said ‘Well heck, I used to
own a bunch of Taco Bells!”
"My kids do now!”
interjects Jimmy.
With 30 years between them,
the Sewanee alumnus and University of North Carolina graduate have little in
common on the surface, but after discussing their experience and interests, the
two realized they could make a powerful team and invested together in that taco
restaurant.
The Chi Psi Educational Trust Names the First Tom Brown Scholar This year, The Chi Psi Educational Trust awarded the inaugural Thomas H. Brown Memorial Scholarship,

has allowed me to quit my job for a local consulting company and just focus on
my consulting business and OURspace.”

Convention Marks Century at Illinois Alpha Zeta Delta has
been a continuous part of the Chi Psi family and the University of Illinois
community for 100 years. As one might expect from such an enduring group,
planning for their Centennial celebration has been in the works for 25 years.
And it just seemed natural to invite the whole Fraternity to join in
celebrating their birthday bash. More than 300 Brothers
converged on Champaign-Urbana to
celebrate the Alpha’s centennial and take part in Chi Psi’s annual family
reunion. The following pages detail for
you events, awards, and business from our 171st Convention.
