Brothers,
My name is Taylor Heath, a Senior
in Marketing, and I have the honor of being the homecoming chairman this year
for Chi Psi. Not sure if you knew, but we placed second 2 years in a row and I
am determined to push us to first place this year. I have heard stories of
years past when Chi Psi won every year and that must have been a really special
time in Chi Psi history. I am sure you have also heard that we won The Founders
Trophy this year which is for the most improved Alpha. This took a lot of hard
work and also help and support from our alumni.
I am writing to let you know of
our homecoming idea and see if you could help us financially with the build.
Years ago homecoming displays cost about $1,000. Believe it or not, now they
cost about $5,000 and we get no help from Clemson University. We use some
active dues to cover costs, but our budget is so tight we just cannot cover it
all. My goal is to reach out to You and other alumni and raise all $5,000. This
will help us to use funds for other important functions to include our social
budget. I have had very positive reactions from alum I have already written and
talked with and I hope you can help as well. Whatever you can give would be very
appreciated and put to good use.
Our theme this year for
homecoming is "The Spirit of 1889.” We are setting a high goal but I know with support from all we can reach the
goal.
